About Us

Sanctuary & Buildings

First Baptist Church as a whole contains a sanctuary, eleven Sunday school rooms, a nursery, a music room, a sound/media room, four restrooms total, a youth area with a complete kitchen, two stairwells, an elevator, and a handicapped ramp in addition to the Rock House rooms and the fellowship hall. There is a portico drive-thru underneath the new fellowship hall.

The Rock House — was connected to the new building addition in 2009. It houses the church front office and has two conference rooms, a kitchen, an Associate Pastor’s office, the Senior Pastor’s office, two restrooms, a library and a storage attic. The Rock House connects to the fellowship hall through a back hallway and is accessible by stairs or elevator.

Fellowship Hall — Our new space has seating for 300, three supply closets, a commercial grade kitchen, and both men’s and women’s restrooms. It is accessible by stairs and elevator from the lower level of the addition, where new Sunday school rooms are located, as is the new back parking lot. A foyer leads to a front entry of the church and to a hallway that leads to the sanctuary. A facelift was completed on the existing classrooms of the older structure as the time of the building addition.

Parsonage — The house is a 2-story single family residential property which has been used since 1949 as the church’s parsonage. The first pastor to live in this parsonage was Rev. Thomas H. Parris and his family. Rev. Parris was also the first full-time pastor of the church. The land on which the parsonage is located was donated to the Church in the mid to late 1940’s by Mrs. Rex Smith’s family. In 1949, the parsonage was built by the Church. The brick house has 1,710 sq. ft. of heated living space. On the first floor, the parsonage has a living room, master bedroom, full bath, kitchen, laundry room, formal dining room, and sunroom. The upstairs has 2 full bedrooms, 1 full bath, and storage areas. The house has been renovated in the last few years to add the sunroom, upgrade the kitchen, and modernize the house and landscaping.
